Jim Crowther, founder of Ad-Lib International, has more than thirty years' experience of international PR and marketing communications. Jim studied engineering at Brunel University, London then went on to become a sales engineer with the Kent Group. Having won the first marketing and publicity bursary awarded by UK industry, Jim subsequently studied advertising and promotion at Ealing College of Art and Technology and began specialising in marketing communications at Perkin-Elmer Corporation.

Jim has held several senior PR and corporate communications posts with leading multinational companies. These include European PR and communications director with Digital Equipment Corporation, based at DEC's European HQ in Geneva, Switzerland, and similar posts with General Automation in Germany and Modular Computer Systems Inc., in both Europe and the USA. Jim established his first PR agency in 1982, which he grew to become one of the UK's leading high-tech business to business agency groups with a turnover approaching 2 million. Clients included Bell Atlantic, Central Point Software, Intel, PowerSoft and Sony Microsystems. Jim sold his interest in the group in 1993 in order to capitalise financially upon the effort and success achieved, and also to enable him to establish his vision of a pan European 'virtual' PR network - Ad-Lib International.

Jim has considerable practical experience in all aspects of marketing communications and international PR in particular. This spread of expertise and experience enables him to work with clients and Ad-Lib associates across Europe in devising and implementing balanced and effective communications programmes. Jim is a member of the Institute of Public Relations.
